Looking for Systainer for LS 130 pads & abrasives

Have a new LS 130 arriving next week, along with an assortment of pads, abrasives, including 80mm Cubitron abrasive rolls that I'll cut to fit.

I'd like to have a systainer that I can clip to the sander's systainer, but don't know what I should be looking for. Any pointers appreciated!

My LS130 came in a tiny SYS1 that barely fitted, so I ended up putting it into a SYS2 to fit the extras and more sandpaper comfortably. If you go to a SYS3 you'll be able to fit more sandpaper in as you'll be able to stand it on edge as opposed to on it's side as I did.

The supplies especially the pads for the LS130 are quite bulky.  So far I've left the pads in the blister packs they came in, unforunately I have no Systainer large enough to hold the stash of pads I recently acquired.  Instead they are in a Rubbermade "Roughneck" container, with the paper in a separate plastic container.  Not ideal especially for site work but the best I can come up with for now.

It would likely require a SYS-5 to equal the volume of the Rubbermade container.  Removing the pads from the packs would allow them to be nest and fit in a lot less space.

I always keep my tools in the original Systainer, just a weird quirk. I did buy a SysCombi to move my DF500 into, then store the Dominos in the lower drawer. I just couldn't do it and started storing the Dominos in the top section and spare bits in the drawer.
In this particular situation, I would probably just get and additional Systainer to store the ancillary equipment and consumables.

FWIW...the new inserts hold 5 stacks of paper while the older insert holds 6 stacks. The old insert is p/n 700834, it should be available as a spare.

Just to be clear, I'm looking to store pads and rolls, and will only have a limited assortment of pre-cut sanding papers.

Thanks for the ideas, I guess I need to find a local dealer and look at the different systainer choices and combinations.

Hehe. Seems you are an even bigger fan of that inlay ever since you discovered it following one of my posts  [tongue]

I'm looking online at the following systainers:
20840 $60
20841 $65
204842 $70
497852 $71
20843 $75

This is for an LS 130, a bunch of pads, and (maybe) rolls of Cubitron. Any help/pointers/comments appreciated!

You really need to lay everything out that you want to put into the sys. in order to figure out what size you need/want.  When you say a "bunch" its hard to quantify.  I would empty out the ls130 sys and start arranging the pads and rolls into you find an arrangement/layout that works.  You may find that the pads might be better standing up vs. laying flat. You might want to precut the rolls or not you might have to double stack the rolls  etc. to get everything to fit.  you will just need to experiment a little.

Unknown to me. They are missing a digit. Do you mean 204840 (empty Sys3M 112) and 204841 (empty Sys3M 137)?

Not sure what you would use the small storage space in the lid for. Also note that this top lid storage isn't accessible when it's in a stack. I have one for my PS 300 and I storage the anti-splinter strips and same blades in the lid.

Again missing a digit. You mean 204843? = Empty Sys3M 237

And the sandpaper itself? Do you want to make your own inlay? Can you source T-Loc (previous generation) Systainers and inlays? Do you have a preference for the new Sys3 or against it?

Yeah, sorry about dropping digits - thought I was using copy & paste but...

204840 $60
204841 $65
204842 $70
497852 $71
204843 $75

The reason I haven't done a complete layout of pads, etc. is that I don't know what else I'm going to buy. In the past, I've laid things out precisely and then went out and bought another doo-dad and then I'm stuck. As for the systainer with the lid storage for small parts, maybe I'll find some things to put there, maybe not. I'm looking at the various systainers and trying to get a handle on size/cost and I have no idea on the different versions (2 or 3) and what that means. I have a XF7000 with 3 domino kits (the 2 large and the 1 small DF500 kit) so far, plus now the LS130. I also have a Makita cordless router, but that is probably like a version 1 systainer kit and not compatible.

As for the sandpaper itself, my current plan is Cubitron 80mm wide rolls, cut to length as needed. I've got 80, 120, 180, 240 & 320 grit rolls on hand or coming. I also cut the rolls for my cork sanding block.

Don't forget that if you want to add the 490780 "do it yourself kit" to the Systainer, it takes up a lot of room if it remains in the blister pack. Also, these foam pads do age & deteriorate with time so keep them in a temp regulated area with the Systainer cover closed. Sunlight and heat is not their friend.

I'm a big fan of the optional attic lids but for the LS 130, small parts aren't really part of its make-up. It's all pads and paper that needs to be stored.

Yeah, I did pick up one of the DIY pad packs. I'm not wedded to keeping it in the original blister pack though

Right now I'm leaning towards the SYS3 M 237 (204843) systainer. The Cubitron rolls are 6" or less in diameter, so I wanted something tall enough to store those vertically to leave more room for the various pads, etc.
