Loving my new TS55 so far!

I'd nearly given up on the idea of a circular saw as a useful tool for anything other than demolition work.    I decided to make the Tool Cabinet from FWW Tools and Shops.  Required working some Baltic Birch in dimensions that would be painful on my cheesy contractor's saw. 

I saw the internet videos of the TS55 in action and combined with a Valentines GC from the woman, took the plunge.  I'm so glad I did.  I've got perfectly clean cuts and the dimensions came out superb.  The guide rail is amazing!

I'm totally convinced on the integrated dust collection.  I had hardly anything anywhere.  A sharp contrast to using my PC router and jig to cut finger joints soon after!

Me Too - I just got my TS55 also and made a first cut. And I'll say this (in Phill Rizzuto voice) Holy cow what a cut !
I have been using a 5 1/2" HD5510 Skillsaw for years to cut down sheet goods and I thought it was pretty good at that. Never thought about a circular saw making a finish quality cut. Using a guide to make a cut is one thing , but using the saw on the guide rail is a whole new ballgame. Smooth and stable , I like it !

Just wait til you really weaken and spring for the MFT. Go for the 1080 if you have the space.  That's what i did.  I often transfer operations to out doors where there is plenty of space. After awhile, I ended up with the MFT 800 for more portability.  I am not sorry to have both.  Those MFT's really add to the enjoyment of the Festool toys.  Also add to the weakness for the system.
