My LR32 manual states: "The vernier scale on the stop slide allows you to set the distance to an accuracy of 1/10 mm."

Wonderful! I can't wait to use it.

But no one can tell me how to use it. My Festool-trained salesman at Woodcraft has never used the LR32 and told me to call Festool support. I called the Festool Support line and was told that the scale means nothing (!) and to just set it on zero. No explanation of why there are many tick marks to the right of the 0 mark. I guess it's just decorative. Those crazy Germans.

Do any of you know how to use the vernier scale? Perhaps it is rocket science and I don't have the right fuel. :)

Maybe this will help you.

Verier scale use

The vernier scale you will take the number it just passes (looking at example 1 on the page) which is 26mm + the line that lines up perfectly with the scale above it. the fourth tick mark lines up with the 30, so you get 26.4 for the measurement.  hope that makes sense.

This German can translate the German engineering. :) Although the scale is french. lol
