LR32 Non-slip improvement for OF1010 router

When I first used my LR32 I paired it with the OF1400 router which use two screws to secure it to the LR32 plate when centering the bit. This is a very stable way to do this. No problems with using the mandrel and easy to mount the router. The OF1010 I found to be not quite as straightforward. As the unit came I found that the OF1010 could move about the plate and was not as easy to center on the plate as the OF1400. Also MUCH to my disliking the OF1010 actually loosened up while I was running some practice holes in some scrap lumber. This could have been a disaster if it happened on a real project. Thus I came up with a simple and cost effective way to improve the way that the OF1010 is used with the LR32 plate. It is really easy and quite cheap as well. I took some of the rubber drawer liner material and cut it out using the OF1010 standard base as a template. Once properly cut I then placed the rubber liner which also acts as something to keep the router in place while centering the mandrel onto the plate. Now I found it very easy to center the router and it behaved quite well as I tightened the holding devices. An added bonus is that the rubber tends to put a preload on the router which helps to keep the holders from loosening up during use.

The OF1010 is now mounted to the LR32 plate. Secure, accurate and not likely to loosen up during use!
 
How do you ensure equal tightening and therefore same "squish" of the pad so it's still perpendicular ?
 
I tighten both of the hand nuts very firmly. Then I move the router up and down with the mandrel still installed. If the router is not perpendicular then the mandrel will drag as the router is moved. Therefore no dragging of the mandrel implies that the router is indeed perpendicular to the horizontal plane of the LR32 plate.
