LR32 Pin stuck

I bought a LR32 kit a few months back and just got around to using it for the first time, and the pin sticks. It takes quite a bit of force to push it in and pull it out, so the actuating lever on top doesn't come close to working, and the spring doesn't even move the pin at all.

I called the service center, but it's going to voicemail. Anyone have any thoughts other than replacement?

Try lightly sanding it down with a lightweight abrasive (220 grit or so). If that doesn't work, just apply some lube spray.

I sprayed some lithium grease on it and that made it easier to move by hand but still no actuation using the lever and spring. I tried to sand it lightly and really no difference. Just by an eye test it looks as if the pin is angled to the base and causing it to rack going in. I suppose the support bracket was welded in the wrong spot.

I was able to get it to actuate smoothly by just pushing it in and out what seemed like 500 times. Even if at a slight angle would that make a difference in use?

your problem is not unheard of. If polishing and applying some hard wax does not make it move freely, I would ask for a free replacement that has been checked by the staff in Lebanon before sending it out.

I finally talked to the service department, and they said to fill our a repair form and send it in to be looked at. I find that odd since it's just a base plate, not something I would assume would be repaired. I just assumed they would replace it.

The guy did say that nothing would be done until next week anyway, and I need to use it next week. I'll use it and see if it works ok. Although, it is frustrating.

Unfortunately, your problem happened at probably the worst time of the year. Many people are using vacation days for the holidays, and the rest are focused on projects/tasks that have to be completed by December 31. Sorry that it's a little slower than usual.

I bought a LR32 on Saturday and used it all weekend.  It was binding really bad at first and was not useable as-is.  My problem is that my LR32 was a customer unit returned under their 30 days and they had stripped the black plastic adjusters under the plate that you fine tune to the rail with a screwdriver.  I hope my dealer can just get me 2 new blocks alone, they are going to call Festool today.  I hit the adjusters with some sandpaper and got it all working but now I have a bit of slop I can't adjust out, it worked GREAT all weekend.  Best tool purchase of mine in years.

But for your issue, I would look at those 2 adjusters and back them out ALL the way so you get plenty of slop and see that if that fixes the pin alignment,  then start bringing those adjusters back where they belong a half turn at a time, I bet one of them is in too far causing the whole plate to be crooked.  I did read where you said the pin itself might be crooked, in that case my suggestion won't work.
