I just bought the LR32 sys and guide rail and I'm noticing that the pin sometimes gets stuck the plate doesn't slide smoothly.
Scratches the guide rail a little bit, and the holes get a tiny deformation.
Is all these normal on the system? is it just the wear the rail gets?

The pin can rub on the rail as you go from hole to hole. I went and looked at my rail after reading this, there is some wear on the rail to be sure, pin didn't seem to show any wear. I have done hundreds of cabinet side panels with mine and as of the most recent project my holes were still very acurate and tight, I still have no slop in my hardware. As I get into the thousands of panels bored I may have to replace the rail, time with tell. I can tell you that at one of the shops I work in we use a line boring machine and once a year or so we replace all the cutters. The costs on that cutter replacement is usually more then the cost of the rail and the whole LR32 setup from festool. I think there is some rail wear over time but still a very economical way to achieve that level of accuracy in your boring.

Thanks. I just wanted to make sure that's the way it works and not an issue with the plate.
As long the pin keeps going tight it should be fine.

Line boring machines seem to be an odd "niche" item now a days. A shop that is big enough to need/use one probably has a CNC now, so they wouldn't bother with it anymore. Then, as you said, a small shop that wouldn't do a huge volume could definitely get by with the Festool set up at a considerable cost savings, not having to replace those bits. So who does that leave that would use a line boring machine?

We have one at the shop where I work, but it's sitting off to the side in a storage area. It got us through  for a short time during the transition to the new shop, but I bet I was only really used for a few weeks.
