Well, I went to all of the effort of enquiring and effectively got a big fat "NOT INTERESTED" and further "WON'T BE ANY TIME IN THE NEAR FUTURE" from Mafell HO.

Further, they suggested to pursue supply of Mafell tools in Australia through an agent in the US. I detected a strong smell of "stupid and ignorant" in their suggestion.

I don't care anyway - Mafell tools are an ugly colour and they probably only work north of the equator.  [eek]

Their product info on the web is rubbish too.

[mad]

That's the sense I get in the U.S. too. Given that attitude, it doesn't matter to me if their tools are better than Festool. It just means that they're hard to figure out what to get, hard to get, and hard to get serviced. And stupid expensive to boot. IMHO, not worth it.

Kev, you certainly don't hold anything back.

FYI Mafellsucks.com is available.

Not Sure what Info your looking to get....I didn't have a hard time finding info using the Net for Mafell products.

Although compared to Festool info it is more difficult.  As I talk with Mafell owners theres a universal theme for the lack of shared information.  Most aren't willing to give info about the product do to threads like this one.  Too much hostility and hard heads.

You can get a few specs and the odd PDF - but MAFELL seem to be stuck in the 90's in terms of their web presence.

For Mafell go to the German website....At the bottom of the page select English and you will get a better site.  Between the speck sheets and company videos most information can be answered to an experienced worker.

Also Word searches using "google translate" helps to find more user information since the majority of Mafell products are sold in Germany, France, and Italy.  The European worker is far less brand loyal than Americans so you get better comparison information.

Yes, yes ... First things I did.

But nothing changes their arrogant and stupid response to the entire market in Australia. The ignorance came straight from MAFELL.DE !

mafellsucks.com may just get registered !

A company that comprehends customer service needs to buy MAFELL and sack all of the idiots at th helm.

Funny because I just ordered some mafell gear here in sunny Canada. So fat I've food customer service to be to of the line, still adapting my delbert so I'll post comments after the fact bit the Canadian distributer seems a top notch dude, very helpful with all my questions and had thrown a few free blades in the mix with my order. We'll see when the package arrives of course for a proper review but I'm confident it'll all be peachy

I have no doubt the dedicated dealers and the products themselves are very good. Hope you have a good experience with them.

I'd also be surprised if the entire Mafell organisation is composed of complete blithering morons ... otherwise they wouldn't have achieved any profile.

Regardless, my contact with Lucia Braitmaier, Mafell's area sales manager, has left me simply bitter.

Telling a prospective Mafell user that Mafell has absolutely no interest in your country and further, ignorantly telling you to deal with a company on the other side of the planet (obviously ignorant of Australian voltages and european standards alignments) seals my opinion of the entire company.

Getting the message from a first week customer service help desk person could be forgivable ... but the area sales manager ... NO.

Did you get the KSS 300?  You've got to post up some photos and a review.  That thing is badass!

You are properly right about there customer service being bad .I bought a Mafell MT55cc saw from them .When it arrive the label inside the Systainer was rip and I email about it ,never got a reply .I didn't even bother to follow up because is just the label that got damage and not the saw .I thought Mafell own Festool or is it the other way around .

Kev,

So which one of their tools are you getting worked up over?

The tool that I'm getting worked up over is their sales manager [mad]

The tools that I was interested in were saws in general. I'm still in a fluid state with track, compact table, table saw, etc ... thus far my least investment is in saws with Festool (TS 55 and a few tracks ... 3000, 2x1400, etc). If I was to dedicate the TS55 to a CMS module, something different could have been an interesting option.

I'm "bound" to the Festool track system, having router, Carvex, etc and looking at some track friendly Protools.

Mafell's Festool track compatibility made it a potential.

I was also opened to be impressed by another range on quality tools with interesting potentials.

Anyway - it's all in the past now ... Mafell made their disinterest in the Australian market clear and for my part as an ambassador for Australia - Mafell can stick their tools where the sun .............
