Magpie Fledging learning to fly

Another wildlife scene from the breakfast table this morning AEST as a fledging Magpie learns to fly off our deck.

Yes and no Alex as mum and dad were nearby giving encouragement. As the parents are very aggressive about their young, I took the photo through a window with an IPad. I was just checking this photo when he was off - too late for the action shot!

The nest is about 30 metres away and off the west side of the house in a GumTree. The photo is on the North, so he had done some flying this morning. Prior to the photo he had struggled from the deck, missed a chair twice, then managed the chair, to a table and then the rail, where he was resting. When I went to get the IPad, mum was beside him, another great shot missed.
