Maiden voyage CXS

So I picked one up on Wednesday. I used it on a kitchen cabinet install.

I don't know if this is the kool-aid talking, but I should have gotten it much sooner. Absolutely perfect for the job.

Do they make tapered counter sinks for centrotec?

I wonder if I will be as impressed with the Impact.

The CXS is the best drill on the market for most operations. Good to have a more powerful drill for bigger stuff. I personally use the c12 to drill tapered counter sinks in FFs and then drive with the CXS. Who has time to change bits? Eric

I use a tapered countersink in the jacobs chuck then pop it off and switch to a driver bit in the centrotec. Fast and easy. The jacobs chuck when placed on end doesn't roll away either so thats handy I find. Still love my cxs

Not quite the intended use, but I didn't have my other drivers available, so I used the CXS to install a 1000sf drywall ceiling. Wouldn't be my first choice but it worked like a champ.

For the longest while I kept a tapered countersink drill bit chucked up in the Jacobs and swapped back and forth to pre drill and install screws in cabinets. Works well enough, love the CXS for most applications.  Just got a C15 and I'm having issues letting the little drill go.  For drilling pocket screws and using bigger bits though, C15 and the 1/2" Jacobs is clutch.

I just picked up the CXS last week after my little Makita's battery crapped out and can't wait to get going with it.  I did drive some 3" screws into a sagging door jamb and it sunk them pretty easily and a lot more quiet than my impact driver.

I had the same impression - coming from an already highly regarded 10.8V system (Milwaukee M12 drill driver) I was immediately blown away by the CXS. So, it's not the kool-aid
I love these key features in the CXS: versatility (switch from jacob's chuck to centrotec and back within seconds, right angle chuck at my disposal), precise sound and feel of the motor and trigger combo, and ergonomics.
Gone are the days when I'll haul around a drill and driver- the CXS with belt clip is easy to leave on around the shop. It's really handy.
