I built this custom walnut dining table for a client of mine a few months ago. It was an interesting enough project to make me decide to write an article about building it on my Furniture Blog.

Beautiful table and a really great post. Thanks for all the detail. I think I learned a lot from reading that!

A beautiful job.
I don't have time to study your excellent blog, but have bookmarked to really get into when we get back from christmas trip.  We leave in a couple of hours.

That technique with the consistent library of curves is really inventive.  I was wondering more about how you cut the top's inset curve than the legs and you make it really clear in your blog.

Are you using MDF for the core of the top?  I couldn't tell in the photos but assume so to deal with wood movement?

Outstanding work.  Thanks so much for sharing!

Yea, the top and leafs are MDF. The regular heavy stuff, not the light weight. I've had issues with adhesion on the light weight MDF.

Very nice work, thank you for sharing!  Do you share the build with your clients?  It's hard to appreciate completely when seeing the final product, but seeing what goes into it really gives one a great perspective and appreciation.

As a beginner woodworker, one of my frustrations is having to design "square" mostly because that it what my tools and capabilities allow at this point.  But I desperately want to grow beyond that.  Thanks for the insight!

Thanks so much for the link -- a clinic that I will study in earnest.
