Makita Rail Connectors vs Festool

Was at a dealer today that sells both Festool and Makita. Went to look at the Makita rail connectors because I know a lot of you recommend them. I've only used the newer FSV/2 and found them to be perfectly fine, with the exception of the set screws that come out if you unscrew them too much.

The Makita connectors were $44 while the FSV/2 were $50. I didn't get either and while I was under the impression that the Makita would be significantly cheaper, I don't know if it's worth getting them if the difference is only six dollars. I like that the FSV/2 connectors expand so they don't deform the rail.

Am I missing something? Thanks.

From what I understand, the preferred use is one half of the Festool set (the aligning one) and then a Makita one for the other slot, since they don't dent the rail.

From what I understand with the current Makita set you still need a 3rd rail or something straight to align the rails before tightening the connectors. One of the two in the Festool set does the aligning on it's own, but the second connector in the Festool set is seen inferior to the Makita ones.
