does anyone know if the makita vc4210l will work with the Festool 204083 CT Cyclone Dust Separator?

I know the systainer will stack on top, but I'm wondering about hose compatibility?

Simple: Yes.

The CT-VA is just a generic cyclone. And the Makita vac is just a generic vac.

The only thing I would worry are the bags - using a cyclone is way more demanding on the bag to not clog as only the smallest partcicles reach it and it has to handle them way longer than normally. On my CTM 36 I replace the bag after about 30 cyclone empties (so about 300 litres of dust) which means the cyclone forces a bag lifecycle about 10-times longer as compared to without cyclone.

I have not used the VC4210 though it is a well-known Nilfisk OEM product. But if buying new, I would go Festool CT26 instead for the SelfClean bags aspect. Or the CT15 even if cost-pressured.

The savings are not worth it IMO.

If I already had the Makita, then absolutely no reason not to use it with the cyclone. Just watch your bags for microdust leakage so you notice it if happens and can remediate in turn.

ADD: Missed the hose question:
Both the Makita and the Festool vacs use the same hose interface on the vac side. So fully compatible there.

thank you! yes, already own the makita (nilfisk), I sort of wish I had bought the CT instead but too late now, I'm very happy with the Makita it's just so large!

I was having trouble finding the right hose specs to confirm if they were compatible or if I would need more adapters.
