Hey all. I have the makita xls06pt miter saw. It has pretty good dust collection but I’m wondering if I can get some feedback here.

The saw has two dust ports: one is a fixed boot at the base and the other moves with the blade. Makita includes a splitter for the two ports. Admittedly the DC is pretty good and I only notice when I forget to turn it on and dust flies everywhere, how effective it is. But I’m wondering best way to maximize DC in this setup. I have a CT26 underneath the saw. I have two 27mm hoses as well. In order to get best DC I’m wondering about a couple different options.

1 upgrade to the larger hose (oof at the $175 price tag or just get the cleaning kit at $275)
2 hook two hoses up to the saw? I tried a splitter but was really surprised at the loss of suction when split
3 what are some other ideas or solutions??

Here is a pic. Two ports, one hose.

i have the eurospec saw, and just use a banshee of a shop vac with a about 37mm hose and it does the job well enough.
i have seen people use the dust bag on the top and a vac on the bottom port.
you could use two hoses if you wanted, but like you said before, there is a drop in suction
