manual autoclean activation problem

Hi everyone,

Since yesterday (5th Jan.) my CTM 36E AC has a weird problem:
When I activate the autoclean function manually by turning the on\off switch all the way to the left or right, instead of doing 3 autoclean cycles in a row (like it used to do before), it now revs up and then just shuts down.
The autoclean function does work like normal at intervals when using the vac, so it's just the manual activation that does not work.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

PS: Weird coincidence, my 3 year warranty ran until 4th Jan! [sad]
 
[member=66126]wpz[/member] , I would suggest that you CALL Festool on Monday and walk them thru your issue and also your warranty date situation.

Hi everyone,

A quick update on my previous post:

I contacted my dealer and send my CTM in for repair.
Will post another update when I have more news.

PS: This is the first time I have an issue with any of my festools or protools and I own quite a few (first one bought in 2002)
 
Hi everyone,

Got my CTM back from the dealer today, fully repaired under warranty [big grin]

I forgot that this dealer (dirks machines/toolnation.nl) gives an extra 2 year warranty on top of the 3 year warranty by festool, so 5 years in total.
They send the vac to festool Holland, where they cleaned it and replaced the electronics module.
Festool even tested the machine in accordance with a Dutch electrical safety standard (NEN 3140) and I got a paper certificate (test report) and a sticker on the machine to prove that it complies.

So great service from both dealer and festool.
No idea why the electronics failed though, has anyone had this exact same problem with their CT?
