I have the Nilfisk Aero 26-21 PC 1250W 25Ltr Wet & Dry Vacuum Cleaner.
58mm ext diameter hose (vac end).

Equipment end of the Nilfisk vac fits the TS55, with the bayonet removed, but not readily.

What size is the vac end, ext diameter please, on (I think)https://www.festool.co.uk/accessory/452881---d-36x3,5m#Overview this hose please?

I.e. I want a Festool hose, bayonet fitting, 36mm hose diameter to use with the Nilfisk vac?

Should be 58 mm. I don't have that particular hose but all my Festool hoses measure 58mm in the vac end.

The vac end on the hoses is fairly standardized, it's the tool end where they get creative.  [eek] the exception on the vac end is if the hose has some kind of proprietary locking mechanism, but even then a plain end hose will usually fit the vac.

I have a rebranded Nilfisk Attix 44 and the hose from it fits my Festool vac and the Nilfisk hose and my Bosch hose fits the Festool and the Nilfisk.

Thanks Ron. Sounds good.
Just need to pick a hose with the 'right' bayonet fixture now.
=============https://www.festool.co.uk/accessory/452881---d-36x3,5m#Overview  That one seems to have a 'plain' end (TS55 end)?
Yet the 27mm diameter has a bayonet?

I'm looking for a larger (36mm) hose, with a bayonet end?  Any suggestions as to part #  please?

Again, looking at that (the image) - there's no bayonet on the machine end?
A bit confusing Mr Festool? ???

Festool 500684 Suction Hose D 36x5 (Does not have the RFID chip for newer Festool vacs.)

I would recommend the 5 meter hose for the D36 size. Having the extra 1.5 meters make a big difference in usability, especially for cleanups. The grey hose you posted above is NOT anti-static. The green hoses are anti-static.

Look for FT hoses that have this new connector (I believe that newer 36mm hoses has) or buy separately. This has inside bayonet that fits bayonet and non bayonet tools:

Connecting sleeve  D 36 DM-AS/CT
for suction hose D 36
for all power tools with D36 flange and cleaning accessories
Item number 500670

The picture is generic, look at the description, the hose has a bayonet connector. In fact, it is very hard to find a hose without one at this point. Only if you go for a non-AS grey hose you might get one, but the green AS hoses all have them.

Oh dear, I do feel daft. Bayonet inside? I was looking at the outside (though a 'generic' photo doesn't help at all ).

Thanks all. Anti static aspect? Is it worth it - not something I've had trouble with, I live in UK, (damp climate) so not a feature high on my priorities.

The idea of a connector working with both bayonet and 'straight' connectors is neat!

Thanks all. Much appreciated.
(That's my Xmas pressie sorted... from me to me?)

It is worth it, it does not depend much on the climate, though people in dry areas might get it worse. I live in Holland near the coast, pretty damp here too and I feel static often if my vac is not connected to a grounded circuit.

What is more important for you is if your Nilfisk vac supports an AS hose. The AS effect depends on connecting the hose to the ground circuit so the static safely dissipates. If your Nilfisk does not do that, it is useless to spend extra money on an AS hose.

Good point Alex, thanks. No is the answer!

Cool, I hadn't seen the connector with the inside bajonet connection yet. I do have one of those smooth hoses that came with my latest vac, but the version for the autoclean models isn't a straight 36 mm but a tapered 36 to 32 mm, and that hose comes with a connector similar to the old 36 mm hoses. And I find it flexible enough to just put the adapter in instead of swapping for a 27 mm hose when needed (at least compared to the old 27mm hose, I haven't tried the flexible version yet)

Note the postscript? D36/32x3,5m-AS/R

I wonder what they all mean? D36/32 - reducing? AS? Anti-static? R.... reducing again? [wink]

Yep, D(iameter) 36 to 32 (mm) 3.5 m length A(nti)S(tatic)/R(with RFID thing)

The one that came with my vac probably doesn't have the RFID thing built in, but I have to order a replacement, because the customer I lend my vac to melted it with a halogen worklight, and the replacement version does, and also has this light-green band on the connector in the picture.

Ha, I just went to a vac and scrolled through the accessories to see a bunch of hoses and look at the common denominators.

The CT at the end appears to apply to the locking type connector,

...then I wondered why some of the vac end hose connector parts also had that in the name, but then I remembered that you can lock both ends of the hose together for transport, so it would have the nibs inside to lock the tool end of the hose inside.

Good idea Frank, for transport.
I think I'm going to speak to Festool when they're back after the holidays. Too darned expensive to take a punt!
CT = bayonet? Nah - surely Shirley? 'Connector type'?

I just think CT at the end means it is a hose or connector meant to be used with a vac like the CT/CTL/CTM/CTH vacs.

To distinguish it from other hoses like those for the CMS or the pre-separator.

Thanks Alex. Acronyms galore :-)
