Materials advice for a tugboat stateroom?

Ok, looks like I'm going to be starting a job tomorrow (hmmm, 8 hours from now...) where I'll be gutting two staterooms on a tug and re-panelling the walls and ceilings, re-installing the existing bunks, and then building new closets/lockers, nav tables, etc.

This is on a working tugboat and time is going to be tight as I need to at least have the staterooms liveable by the 28th of this month.

I'm fishing for ideas of material to use for the walls and ceiling. The existing material appears to be 1/4" panelling or something similar that's been painted white. The guy in charge is hoping for something with a warmer feel. Being that it's a marine environment, I want something that can stand up to humidity.

Any suggestions? I start the demo tomorrow.
Cheers!

Marine Plywood , finished with Epifanes Rubbed Varnish.
You get stable plywood and a satin sheen, not glossy.

I will put that on my list for the next job. I finished this one a few weeks ago but will be starting another on Monday. I'm pretty much limited on this one to matching the two staterooms I'm fitting out with the rest of the ones on the boat. I'll have a chance to eyeball it tomorrow when it arrives in port.
Cheers!

  So how's the job going?

It's going well. Still in the framing/furring/insulating stage. I started a new thread titled "Another Tug Job" or something like that. This is a pic of my starting point. :)
