yours is a great job!!. as for me a newbie (both to festool and carpentry in general.. not my day job:-()
Anway.. decided to get a nice set of tools.. and coming from the UK where space is at a premium.. first task was to house them, so here was my attempt. The idea with the doors is to be able to:-
a) Keep dust off, but mainly
b) will put some horizontal shelves, drill holes through them to put screwdrivers, files etc.. in short, general tool storage, to be completed
Base.. added some stiffening, to make sure the doors reamined true under weight
Due to time.. (first baby due in 5 days) I didn't go for drawer runner options, just used thes shelving strips
and then found the shelf supports worked quite well by themselves for supporting the systainer.. and make the whole set-up very adjustable
Down to costs
2 sheets of 2.4m x 1.2m MDF ?30
4 Castors (2 fixed, 2 swivel & lockable) ?25
Shelf Rail plus supports ?20
Total... a lot cheaper than the festool storage system
