Maximum Bit Diameter CMS with OF 2200 Router

I have a 3.5 inch Freud bit as part of a panel raising set. The CMS available here in North America can only use the OF 1010 or 1400 routers and is limited to a 2.7 inch maximum bit diameter. Can one of you from a more enlightened country, where the CMS is available for use with the OF 2200, tell me whether or not a NAINA CMS with a OF 2200 will accept that big Freud bit?

I just wanted to pop in and say that this question has been asked before.  I can't search right now because I am running out the door to do some work.  If I remember correctly it will be close to being able to accept that bit if all the mounting rings have been removed.  The CMS here is the same as in other countries with the exception of the switch and electrical components and sets are offered here only versus being able to buy individual parts outside of North America.

I don't think that it is a secret that there are CMS set up in North America with 2200's residing below the insert, but as a moderator I am supposed to cut and paste the following statement just to make sure that the risks are known:

"Warning: The Festool CMS System is approved for use with only the OF 1400 and OF 1010 routers in the US and Canadian markets.  It is not approved for use with the OF 2200, nor with any of the CMS modules currently available outside the US and Canadian markets (TS, Jigsaw and sanding modules).  Festool USA does not  endorse the use of these components and will not support them with spare  parts or repairs. You can fit a bit as large as 3-1/2" (but no larger) in the CMS, but be aware that there is a flange on the left side of the fence center section that must be partially  filed off to accommodate a bit that large and retain full use of the fence and upper dust collection.  I have used a raised panel bit that is 3-3/8" in diameter, and there was very little slack available.

Just add a fence to the CMS fence to move the stock fence back out of the way. This is a 3.625" 18º panel raising bit. I've add 2 fences for some operations.

The feather keys/nuts are the same ones that hold the factory fence the the bracket. I ordered extras from /festool.

Yes, the 2200 is in the table.

Thanks for all the quick responses, and I am much relieved to see that a simple auxiliary fence will make a CMS table work just fine with a 3.5 inch bit. I will pull the trigger on a CMS later this summer (would have been sooner, but my truck broke down $$$). I figure I can use my OF 1400 and make a few more passes when raising a panel until such time as the CMS is approved and made useable for the OF 2200 in North America. . . I am doing this as a serious hobby rather than production work. Who knows, maybe the OF 1400 will turn out to be perfectly satisfactory for my occasional use with the large bit.

With the slower speed (1.5 on the dial should put you about 78 mph) you turn the larger bit and an extra pass you should be just fine with the 1400.
