In the description it states it's a plus version not set.

It states SET in the main description?

True, but the main picture is of the RA adapter too, so if it's not the set version, there's going to be a lot of trouble...  [wink]

Plus, I think somebody contacted Festool & confirmed it was the set version.

I wonder if someone at TTS went down to the storeroom and pressed every trigger and any that went BEEP were flogged on eBay.  [poke]
I already have a PDC and don't need another, however I paid a lot more than that and according to eBay and a quick search on the net shows I cannot by one at that price (not even close) from any of the Festool UK Stockists.
I think they and a few of their customers will be a bit miffed.
Well done to those who scored one though!!

Any idea why they list it Cordl.ham.drill PDC 18/4 Li 4,2 Set GB, and not with proper description?
Why not use festool in description?
I wouldn't worry I've seen a few items before that tts put on eBay and theyre quite often badly worded [emoji3]

The model number I was given is 769195 that should tell you what you get :)
For those who might have missed it I posted the model number that tts gave me through ebay

I got one yesterday.

I have got the protool version which was ridiculous money I can't believe how cheap the new Festool version was when in came out a year ago, as I thought it would be much more than the t18, and was really annoyed that I paid so much for the protool, but I know it was my choice and is was a exclusive tool and toolfest had the price set exclusive to them.

To be honest the t18 is still my go to drill. I have only bought this due to price and I also get the angle adaptor that I have not got. I find the protool drill good but is rather heavy and big for most of my work types

It appears I am one of the chosen 53.

The description on eBay is 'Cordl.ham.drill PDC 18/4 Li 4,2 Set GB'

However if you look at the contents there is no mention of the RA adapter

Cordless Screwdrivers Quadrive - PDC 18.4 Li 4.2 Plus GB
Comes with TCL 3 Charger
Centrotec Tool Chuck
Centrotec Bit Holder
FastFix Keyless Chuck 13mm
Additional Side Mounted Hand Grip
2 x Batteries

Has anyone had confirmation direct from TTS (ie not via eBay, I know joiner 1970 has had info via eBay) that this is indeed the Set version including a RA adapter or is it just the plus version?

I've said it before now I will say it again

" THE MODEL IS 769195 "

that is straight from tts and they also said it includes the angle attachment.

I'm glad JRB didn't post this elsewhere as I might have made an impulse buy that I don't really need. I have often thought about getting this drill though and I just checked out the Axminster price at £560. Something that did catch my eye was one of the reviews from someone who states that they are pro Festool in general:

Good but....
Being a professional tradesmen I've reasonable experience with combi drills over the years. I own various Festool products and all are very good quality. I had a warrantee issue with a Kapex once and their repair service was excellent.
The pros (with regards to the drill) :- The detachable chuck, good build, 3 year warrantee (very rare for power tools), systainer box, lightweight and it's very nicely balanced.
The cons :- The electronic clutch kicks in a lot (even on hammer), the torque really isn't great, slow battery charge, the price, and... Oh my lord is it loud - it's like a nuclear powered dentist drill; ear defenders are a must.
Conclusion :- Yes it's very nice... Is it better than my previous Makita? Yes and no, much of a muchness in day to day use; I think durability is going to be the real teller - knowing Festool you would have thought durability would be good.

Would anyone that owns one care to comment, particularly on the comment about the torque not being great?

BTW don't worry about the young lad from Festool UK who posted the Ebay listing. If he is in the job market I have it on good authority that JRB has offered him a job as his new apprentice. He has stipulated that it will always be a hands on role and he won't be allowed to get involved in any purchasing or estimating.
;)

Andy,

I have one I've had for a year or so now. I'd say the torque is great, but then again it depends on what that reviewer was comparing it to (maybe an impact?).

They also said the clutch kicked in a lot, even on hammer. I've never had that happen; maybe they didn't set it to the drilling position?

As PP alluded to in his recent video, the real value in Festool drills over others is the Centrotec system. That is something you don't tent to realise and appreciate until you've used it for a while...

Pretty sure it was listed by a lady not a guy judging by the name on the listing ;)

They are loud but those i know who own them and are not festool obsessive havent got bad words to say about them. I have used it in anger on site and was impressed, more solid feeling than makita or dewalt. I have killed 3 makitas and 1 dewalt in the last 2 years with normal site use so we will see how this holds up!

Several of the retailers do have the PDC at a heavier than normal discount, e.g. D&M Tools, where the PDC is considerably cheaper than the DRC model.  (The deal referred to here is still considerably cheaper again.)

Pure speculation, however, given Festool's drive to reduce vibration in their tools due to the tightening of EU standards, it makes me wonder if the PDC is being refreshed to address vibration through the percussion mechanism?  I have no knowledge what the required levels are, however, automatic vibration limiting in the new style ETS EC 150 seems to have been a major driver for it's introduction.

Even if this is so, the PDC is still a great machine (I have the DRC) with enormous power and for woodworkers only occasionally using the hammer action, no issue.  For serious concrete / hard brick drilling, I would always reach for the SDS drill anyway.

As  I said, pure speculation on my part……

I bought one from a different buyer for £350.00 plus £6.19 p&p. I have been told by the seller waiting for stock which will be in Friday. I bought it over the weekend. I have contacted the seller many times and would not get a reply until yesterday.  To me it seems like a scam and am really concerned.  Now I am also gutted to find out a more genuine seller is selling them for £285!

I  want my money back from the place I bought it. Then will buy from the seller posted here. But i am worried I wont get my money back .

Don't worry, the 15 day return option will cover you to cancel/return the order. If you bought it from us, just message me or call and we'll sort it out for you. If you bought it elsewhere, call them now to save them sending to you.

Best regards

Warren
