If you enjoy being on the cutting edge of knowing what's available and what's on the horizon in the wood working world, McFeely's may have an opportunity to transform your passion into a professional opportunity. We're currently seeking a Product Manager to assist with finding new products and developing the right presentation for those products across several different channels (catalog, Internet, email campaigns, etc.). This full-time position begins this September at the new Madison WI office of McFeely's Square Drive Screws. The successful candidate will be able to travel to various trade shows and be adept at building relationships between those selling and buying industrial and hobbyist woodworking products. If interested, please contact Ron Pegram at 434-846-2729 x. 3025 or at ronp@mcfeelys.com. Salary will depend on experience and other qualifications.

Ron,

Sounds like a great opportunity for someone! But it is my fondest hope that McFeely's will continue to provide the personal contact and service which have made it successful thus far. Lynchburg is a long way from Madison.

This is not a negative--I wish you all the best and new products are always welcome. But I know I'm not the only one watching to see how things develop.  Best of luck. There ought to be several forum members who fill the bill if they are interested.

Hey Bob,

I can share a few items with you.

We're sending three people off for Festool tool training in August. That's more than we've ever sent before. If we don't know the answer, BELIEVE me when I tell you our plan is to get it. That's a pretty serious commitment and one that makes Jim Ray very happy. I know.

I'm staying on with the company as well. I've worked for McFeely's for ten years and the new folks have offered me the chance to continue my career in a very significant role. Your comments, feelings and desires for McFeely's will be my top priority. It's my role to maintain and improve on what we've done. I'm very positive that we can do just that.

So yes, change is afoot. But it's change that gives us more resources and change that doesn't come with all new faces. I like to think of it as an expansion of the McFeely's family.

I hope you'll feel the same as time moves on. Madison is a long way from Lynchburg but the sentiment of both groups isn't far away from the other at all. I want the best and we're going to go for it.

Let me be the first to chime in with the oft-repeated request for a centrotec set of square-drive drivers.  Maybe the new, larger company can make that happen.  Congrats on your new opportunity.  I would certainly relish the opportunity to spend some time in Germany, playing with all those toys.

Ron,
I am one of those who cherish Jim R, McFeelys and all that they have done for us woodworkers.  So I am 100% behind you and the new team. If you can continue to keep McF going n the right direction, I am totally with you and I wish you the best of luck.

Thanks John,

Our goal is to continue with the same, if not better, levels of service in the future. I can tell you that I've heard nothing about lowering service in any way so this isn't the stereotypical "Lets buy a small company and make it faceless" type arrangements you hear so much about.

Instead, the emphasis is "How do we keep it special!"

It's not hype when I report that I'm psyched! I'm obviously very grateful to Jim Ray for all the opportunities he has given many. I've been here for 10 years but it's awesome to know that the plan is to continue in much the same fashion and that I can continue my career.

Thanks for the well wishes!
