MFK700 Collet

I just picked up the MFK700 and the Festool radius router bit.  I was under the impression that this bit should fit in the mfk700? I can may get it started with a few wacks from the rubber mallet but there is no way I'm getting the entire shaft of the bit into that collet.

What am I missing??

It should have come with 8mm and 1/4in collets, i think the festool bit should go in the 8mm collet

Something is wrong. It shouldn't take anywhere near that level of force to insert a bit into a collet.
What size shank are you using here? What country are you in?
Is it possible that you are trying to put a 1/4" shank into a 6mm collet? A 1/4" shank is actually 6.35mm and I would guess that it might be forced into the wrong collet, at least a little?
