MFK700 Plate?

I have recently purchased the conturo and with a small learning curve have grown to love it. 

However, the MFK is still leaving me scratching my head.

The offset in the plates is not as big as the left over edge banding that I am trying to trim off.  I am using 7/8" edge banding on 3/4" plywood.  The base wants to sit and rock on the edge banding rather than ride along the plywood. 

The router also reanimates the glue and spits it about 1" along the face of the plywood that I am edge banding. 

Any insight to these issues would be greatly appreciated.

Pictures please. I have no trimming problems with the combination your using.
