I am going to purchase the 1010 router and this MFS system. Do I need to purchase anything else for cutting circles, square pockets, etc. I have tried to follow the YouTube videos so I think I am ready to try what I want to do, and this system, if I understand it properly, will provide me with the tools to accomplish everything I mentioned?

Thanks for any help I can get to make sure I am not missing something.

Get some guide bushings to bear against the inside of the templates you create with the MFS rails.

I think the piece that is used to do circle cutting uses a 30mm bushing.  Other than that a bushing kit as mentioned by Nick.

You might want to get the Festool guide bushings though, rather than using the adapter with which the 1010 comes.  The one downside of the 1010 I've discovered (and which others have mentioned on the forum), is that the adapter is very difficult to center on the router, because it fits so snugly in the sub-base.  I've also had the Leigh adapter recommended to me, though I've yet to purchase it.

If you're thinking of getting the MFS system, I'd recommend getting the MFS 400 (492610, $348) and add the MFS 700 profiles (492724, $229) for a total of $577 as opposed to buying the MFS 700 (492611, $494) and adding the MFS 400 profiles (492723, $166) for a total of $660.  That's an $83 difference, and you'll wind up with exactly the same parts.  Go figure...

One of the issues with the MFS system is, how to clamp in the middle of the material you need to rout.  I know that in the supplemental guide Brice Burrell shows using additional MFS extrusions to make extensions.  I instead took 1" X 2" anodized aluminum angle (http://www.brunnerent.com/), cut the 1" leg down to 5/8" on my bandsaw, and then drilled a series of holes that fit the small screws and clamps used for the furnished guide angles.  I made one 24" and one 36" so that I could use it for routing door-lites.

Wow, thanks everyone, I would not have thought of any of your ideas. This is still new to me. I was just figuring my list out this morning. Great ideas.
