MFS Setup for Radius on Inset Sink Unit

Hi All,

Relatively new MSF owner with an OF1010 and I looking to inset a new sink into a benchtop but it isn't fully square and has a 13 mm radius on each corner that will need to be inset into the top by about 1-2 mm. How do I set up the MFS for this? I assume I need a copying ring at 26 mm (that I cannot find) to support a 13 mm radius as it hits the corner of the MFS. Am I missing something? is there another way to achieve the same goal?

Many thanks...

The size of the copy ring (in combination with the cutter size) determines how far away from the MFS profile your cut will be, nothing more. To get a 13mm radius in a corner, you need a 26mm cutter.

With a few calculations, you should be able to use a 26mm cutter with an appropriate copy ring for the corners, and then a smaller cutter with an appropriately sized copy ring to match the MFS size for the top, bottom, and sides of the cutout.

Can I recommend a couple of guides if you are new to the MFS?

There have been some 3D printed "fillets" for the MFS that insert into the corners that could be used to achieve a radius, but you'd need to custom design and print something for your 13mm radius.

:D I knew there was an obvious answer. of course a 26 mm cutter would do the job (doh!) thanks for pointing it out as I was completely focussed on the MFS and not the actual router as i should have been...new toys and all that. :)

Also, thanks for the guides, great reading and given me lots to think about.

Thanks again.
