I am in the process of building an MFT Cabinet similar to the one shown here in this
thread.MFT Cabinet

Once I am all done I'd like to lock up the tools to prevent theft. THe complete MFT Cabinet will be designed in a manner where it won't fit through the door so you just can't roll all of my tools directly out of the shop.

Anybody come up with a good way to lock up your tools in an MFT cabinet? I am thinking about using a file cabinet licking type system cause I can't think of another way

Thanks

Here's a reply form Mirko in the homemade sysport thread.

Hey Guys,
The Sysports look great, has anyone considered adding a Gang lock (the kind that fit into a Dado in the side panel) It appears to me that if you where unable to slide the drawer out, you wouldnt be able to take the systainer out. Or atleast slow someone down, trying to make off with these beloved Festools.

Make up a metal "strap" out of 1/4" x 2" that goes in front of each set of shelves and secure that with a couple of large padlocks.

This may be a bit uncouth to the Festool sensibility, but I have a shop in a less than desirable area and had to lock down my stuff as well.  My solution was to buy a Jobsite tool box, with casters, make a sub frame for the 1080 that bolts to the lid of the box.  The lid has gas struts that assist in opening so the lid operates smoothly.  Obviously you lose the drawer function and you have to dig for the systainers, but I don't find it to be a big deal to just open up the box in the morning and remove all of the systainers and then repack at night.  I have some homemade sysports that sit along one side of the shop and I just load em up in the morning and close em down at night.  Takes about 2 minutes.  So, rolling mft table and high security lockbox in one.  If you really need to see green when you walk into your shop, you can buy a green Greenlee jobox at the HD. ;)  I'll try to post some photos of the setup this weekend.
