Hi all, very nice forum. I am a UK based builder with 40+ years experience.
I have a question, I recently bought the Makita DSP601 36v plunge saw (AWS version) and the AWS dust extractor. I really want to buy the Festool MFT/3 with accessories, so I am wondering if the Makita guide rail will fit the accessories that come with the MFT, so that I can use the DSP601 with it?

I want to use the Makita guide rail because it has the lock groove, making it more secure for bevel cuts, plus I have other Makita rail adaptors too.
So, does anybody know if I can swap out the Festool guide rail for the Makita, then I can use all the other Festool accessories as normal.

Many thanks for any help.  ;)

My suggestion is to buy the MFT without the attachments/accessories.  Instead, get a GRS-16 and some Parf Dogs.  It will be more accurate and easier to use in the long run.

I tried a Mikita rail on my MFT connectors and they fit. I am not sure if the factory installed stops the connectors butt up to will put the rail in the proper perpendicular position to line up the guide rail with the dog holes. The stops can be adjusted though. I also use Parf Dogs on my MFT. I do not use my connectors for the guide rail but I do use the protractor and fence on occasion. Hope this helps.

Rob and Ivan, thanks for the replies, that’s given me the info I need and also more options I’d not thought of.
There is a branch of Axminster Tools near to where one of my sons lives, so as we’re visiting him today, I will pop in and have a closer look at the MFT’s including the UJK Technologies version. So today could get expensive!  [big grin]

Once again, many thanks for the help and advice.
