Guys

I want to set my table so the fence is on narrow end of the table for rip cuts and the guide runs down the long side of table. This must have been duscussed. Can anyone direct me to some threads that deal with this setup

Thx

Jim

Was thinking about the exactly same thing the last weekend.
Haven't tried it yet, but looks like similair set up as normal except with (I think) the 1400 rail or longer one

That sounds reasonable.  My question is when facing the fence side of the table, does the rail guide go on the left or right side of the table.

Which ever side suits your style of cutting. You can also get an extra set of stops that screw into the side rails T tracks for positioning the guide rail stops which will enable you to easily switch the guide rail stops back and forth between crosscutting and ripping.

However I found that it is quicker and easier to just use the 1400 rail on a separate sheet of foam to do my ripping so that I don't disturb my cross cutting setup.

The only time that I use the table setup on the long side is when I have a number of wider panels to cross cut.

Typically the right side. Measure from left to right, set stop, cut move off cut left to make new cut.
