I moved the factory wingy dingy thingys to the right thus allowing me to relocate my track and cut just slightly off the edge of my table top.  I use my second MFT on the right for stock support. Does anyone have information why this is a bad idea?  Is cutting over the table intended for optimum dust collection?  If so, what is the educated guess as to % of dust lost?

The track is square to the protractor BTW.  I made sure of that.

Having the cut on (and slightly in) the table makes it also work as a chipout protector (splinter guard) for the bottom of your workpiece. Basically the table works as a zero clearance insert for the cut and a dust stop (as it can't escape to below).

You could replicate this by putting a piece of wood into the gap between the tables (planed to height so it is flush with the table and clamped so it can't move away), then you would have that and no cut in the table surface.

No idea on the %.
