MFT, dogs and a Japanese pull-saw

Just stumbled on a very handy way to hold small stuff and cut it with a hand saw, thought I would share:

Just a bit of pressure from the off hand traps the material being cut against the dog. Just reverse it to use a push-saw. Ain't leverage great?

RMW, This is a really good idea, I always have trouble when i need to cut small part. I wonder if this could also be modified to work on a table/mitre saw??? Would be worth looking into i think.

As long as there is enough leverage on the piece horizontally and possibly vertically, I would see no problem with that.

if you put one of the push clamps(sorry brain malfunction , i cant remember the name)  in the hole it would free up your hand for allignment

nice trick there, thanks- the perforated plate system is so useful, very engaging to try to solve little problems like that.
