I'm replacing my worktop bench, and am intending on using a sheet of mdf  (8' x4') and turning it into bigger version of the mft top. I know the hole centres are 96mm and I thought that the hole diameters were 20mm. Untill I saw a cnc diagram from Seneca woodworking which stated that the hole diameters are 20.2 mm.  I know in the scheme of things that .2 isn't a lot but I would like to pass on the correct diameter before my order is sent to the cnc shop. If anyone could please help in settling this for me. I'd be very grateful.  [big grin]

im no expert but i drilled a 20mm hole the other day to use a festool clamping element on a scrap bench top and it was sloppy .but ive had a top cnc,d and its perfect
il check with the verniers next time im up the shed ..have you not bought anything yet you could send with it for them to set the hole to

Thanks VW mick, no not got mft as yet to compare. Gradually working towards that as a domino 500 is next on the list :)) I just wanted my static work bench to resemble an mft at a fraction of the cost. Thanks again

I used the Festool 20mm hinge bit and it is perfect. 20.2 mm would seem to be much too big. However I can't check the size cut for a few months :-[

Is that bit available in NA?  I can't find it at Lee Valley's website.

I've checked and my CNC,d top is bang on 20mm the festool clamping element is 19.7
And they fit together perfectly

hopper, I got mine from Dan at Ultimate Tools.  I put the link below.  Price is $71 Cdn for the 20mm bit.

Liveforever and Mikeneron,  Thanks for the links.  It will be less complicated to order from Dan at Ultimate tools because UPS and FEDEX charge such an unreasonable amount for brokerage fees.  Thanks again, Paul
