Like some of you, I was unable to use the OF1400 out of the box with the dominofix jig. I couldn't justify buying an OF1010 just for guide work, so here's how I fixed the OF1400's precision issue.
For this fix, you'll need two things.
462637 - an extra standard of1400 base plate (i got from festool support)
5x m4x12 raised head screws
Remove the two screws holding the template guide holder (I don't know the technical term)

Place the template guide into the holder, mark the template through the holder using the two larger holes

Drill holes through the template guide at the place your marked in the previous step. The hole needs to be bigger then the screw's diameter (to give some play), but smaller than the screw's head. I used 7/32 bit. Then remove the hooks from the tabs of the template. I used a dremel with a metal wheel. It should look like the picture below, there should be only two holes (i messed up and drilled an extra set). Clean up any burrs or sharp edges

Put the holder back into position on the of1400, put the template guide into the holder, use the new longer screws to attach both to the of1400 base. Leave them a little loose so you can use a centering mandrel to align the template guide. Once centering mandrel is aligned, tighten the screws snug to remove any play, but not too much or you may bend the template guide.

At this point, there should be zero lateral play in the template guide... But, the heads of the screws will protrude slightly.

To regain a flat surface, unscrew the 5 screws holding the baseplate to the of1400, stack the spare base plate on the original, re-attach by screwing all 5 screws through both base plates. Only one side of the base plate has counter sunk screw holes, make sure that side is facing you so that when you screw through both plates you end up with a flat surface.
