I tried out the new MFT HZ 80 clamps last night and for certain operations they are great. I think that they ratcheting clamps have a lot more holding power, but for many operations these will do a fine job and are quicker to apply. This is a video that demonstrates them.

I don't think that they are available in the US, I bought them from  Amazon.de, it was about $15 to have them shipped to the US. They will part of a set that should go on sale in the US in March, so I would expect them to be available individually then.

How Amazon prices shipping is a mystery to me. When I ordered the clamps, I wanted to also get the new self aligning guide rail connectors and the shipping was more than a $100, so I'm waiting for those. The Amazon shipping algorithm is a complete mystery for over seas purchases sometimes it is free, sometimes its reasonable and sometimes it is amazingly high.

Amazon.de actually got them to me ten days earlier than they said they would. I hope that you have the same luck.

I ordered same set from amazon.de  Should be arriving next week or so.

Could one of you post a link to that set you speak of? I found the individual clamps but not some kind of set that contains them. Also a link to the info that the set will be available in the US in March?

Thanks, Mark

It’s not a set. They are sold individually. I just bought 2

So, I bought a pair of these clamps from amazon.de and they arrived yesterday.

Problem is that they are a very tight fit in the holes of my old MFT 1080. it seems that they are very, very close to 20mm in diameter and have an intentionally rough finish on the shaft (so that they will hold fast in the holes - pun intended). All my other 20mm accessories slide in and out of my MFT holes easily (but still are not sloppy in the holes).

I know people have had issues in the past with hole size when making a new MFT top but this is an original Festool top, albeit 15 or so years old.

Any suggestions welcome. I really want to be able to use these clamps. Is there a way to very lightly ream out the holes in my MFT? Sandpaper on a dowel?

Thanks, Mark

Will the Pony Jorgenson Hold Down clamps work with an MFT top?

Got my MFT 80 clamps today from Axminster.  I screwed up, ordered 4 when I meant to order 2.  They got here very quick.  They are ok but as another person mentioned, their holding power isn't all that special.  They are ok as I seem to be a clamp junkie so I will see how they go.
