MFT HZ 80 Clamps

Got my MFT 80 clamps today from Axminster.  I screwed up, ordered 4 when I meant to order 2.  They got here very quick.  They are ok but as another person mentioned, their holding power isn't all that special.  They are ok as I seem to be a clamp junkie so I will see how they go.

How strong is the hold?  Good for power tools such as routers and sanders? Domino? Jigsaw?

I clamped a piece of 3/4 white oak (6" x 6") and I can move it.  It doesn't move real easy.  I haven't tested but using more than one, just like any other clamp setup, would improve it a good deal.  As far as holding material while routing, dominoing and sanding would work, again, as long as you used more than one.  The 20mm posts required me to open up the holes a tad.  My holes were cut with the 20mm UJK Parf system into 3/4 radiata pine ply.

As I noted above, I am also having trouble with MFT1080 hoels that are too tight for these clamps. What did you use to open up the holes in your top? I'm thinking of wrapping some sandpaper around a 3/4" dowel and lightly sand the inside of the holes, but I haven't acted on that thought yet.

There was a big discussion along these lines a while back.  I bought this from Amazon and it is terrific.  Its not pretty  but I use it on a couple holes at a time as I need them.  Just push it in, make a couple of turns and the hole is perfect.
