its a nice router /work table.
i dont think the mft adds a lot to it. i would keep the mft on its own and make the top perminent but with a t track  around the edge. .
that looks very perminent on the base  for support to the router table.

Thanks for the tip and the ideas, I missed this post earlier on so was happy to find  it now.
Nice work.
I am planning how to build my Festool A5 router base in to a larger table with a sliding fence.

Will probably post as I go along.
