I know that you guys are anxious to learn more about the new MFT3. I had enlisted Matthew's help to poll the group for a concise list of questions so that I can make sure that we address as many of them as possible when the information about the MFT3 available. I will be including answers to your questions as well as product photos in an upcoming edition of the SysNotes email newsletter. Here are some of the basics about what changes are taking place:
- New height - 900mm
- Weighs less - at 61lbs it will be 11lbs less than the 1080
- The bore size and offset on the perforated top will not change so your existing MFT accessories will work
- New V-Groove profile for adapting future accessories
- Optional support cross members will be available for additional stability
That is all of the information I have to release at this time. I assure you that I will get you more information including photographs as soon as possible.

Hi Wim,
Way back in the 90's (when Festool was Festo, and green was blue) there was the FST660/85. It looked a bit like an MFT800--alumin(i)um extrusion frame, MDF center, hinged guide rail--but Festool hadn't invented holes in the top yet. I think this would qualify as the MFT1.
I, too, am waiting now.
