I've always run all of my Festool tools though a Midi with no issues. I think the lone exception is my 2200 router.

I recently bought a Mafell Duo Doweler. The store person advised against running it through my Midi due to start up current requirements.

It is a 900 watt machine on 120v. I don't know what the start up current draw is.

Is this safe to run through my Midi on Autostart?

I run my DD40 on a ct26 and have never experienced any issues.  The only issue I've ever had was trying to run the 1400 with the ct and it started up fine but when cutting the mortises it would trip the 20 amp breaker.

Mine is the DDF40 which has a much lower RPM than past models. I think it is rated at 8000rpm. I've been using the DDF on the Midi and direct connected to an outlet. I don't see any difference.
