Midi cut out

Using my midi tonight doing some sanding with rotex and multimaster and the vac suddenly stopped after about 5 to 10minutes continuous sanding .

Do the midi's have a thermal cut out . It's never happened in all the time I've used midi's since 2007. The through power still worked but the suction switched off

I left it off awhile and it worked fine, just curious as to what happened

Yes, it has thermal protection. I would recommend checking for a blockage in the hose, full bag, or something blocking the exhaust vent.

The bag is new and nearly empty but I will double check for a blockage.

Mine also did this for about a week. I emailed Festool who told me it didn't have any thermal protection and there was an issue with the vac and to send it off to them.

After that week it hasn't done it again for about 4 months now so I didn't bother sending it off.

Yes it does, but re boring back now the woman that told me that on the phone didn't say it with much confidence!

After a little more reading up they do have thermal cut outs like Shane said.  [smile]
