Migrating a T-Loc CXS to a Sys3 Attic Lid

Has anyone moved their CXS from a T-Loc Systainer to a Sys3 with an attic lid? These are some things I'm wondering about:

1) Will Festool sell me the plastic insert tray from the Sys3 CXS SKU (576099) as a standalone item? (This is still available if you poke around, but its days are numbered).
  • If yes, I assume I can drop it into a Sys3 M 137 Attic Lid.
  • If no, I assume I can cut some Kaizen foam.
2) In the kaizen foam case, could I get away with installing an attic lid on a Sys3 M 112? (The M 112 matches the size of the original T-Loc the CXS used).

Thanks!

I don't really know much about the T-Loc versions but I'm surmising that if you have the T-Loc inserts they should fit reasonably well in the Sys3, with some mods to accommodate variations in the vertical ribbing. I think.

I haven't done that specific move, but I've migrated several "Classic" Systainter tools to current Systainers and have been able to do the slight modifications necessary to the tool specific trays to make them fit and continue to be used. I would imagine, just like the previous poster, that there's not much difference between the T-Loc and the Sys-3 in that respect.

Call up Festool service and tell them the insert you want to purchase, they will then transfer you to the correct department. The service department doesn't offer the inserts but they do know what internal department does.

The insert will fit but it may need to have some small manicuring performed on it...that's normal when swapping inserts between the various Systainer styles.

This sounds like a good idea. I'll try that and report back.

I bought various inserts from Festool after Uncle Bob gave me there # a long time ago.  Mostly these were the sandpaper inserts that I stacked in sys IIIs so all the grits were in one container.
