Had a bit of spare time so decided to put a new top on my Dewalt bench/table (DE1000). I just measured out 96mm spacings and did it all on my drill press.

Also had time to sort out a spare sys 1 I had to take my little Makita trimmer and hinge jig etc

How have you checked it for accuracy Joiner?

If you are just going to use it as a "clamping" table, I suppose the accuracy is'nt that important.

Just wondered, coz I've got a spare DE1000 kicking around in my workshop. I may nick your idea  [big grin]

Tim , its just for clamping really but I bet its pretty accurate anyway . All I did though was measure out 96mm spaces then used a roofing square to square across. Then I just drilled away with a 20mm drill in the press, I took the arris off the holes with a chamfer cutter in the router.

I've only got clamps to use with it anyway but I might make or buy some dogs they could come in handy.

what did you use for the top

Sorry only just spotted your question. It was just some phenolic coated plywood I had left over from a job. It's the stuff they use for trailers and horse box floors
