Needed a storage solution for mini-systainers that would allow individual access. Felt that I didn't neeed the pull-out tray design of the larger sysports so cam up with this. Easy project and I have room for two more mini systainers or one more mini systainer III (rearranging shelves).

This is great! Good job.
I love my minis and this storage may be in my future.
I have a mini 3 with all brad nails and finish nails
I have a mini 3 with a hole saw set and assorted s/m/l drill bits
My other minis have. First aid kit, router bit set, precision measuring tools and one empty one tbd

Very nice!

Recently I came across a web page which had one using Ikea shelving to make a similar holder for inexpensive parts organizers from Harbor Freight (this sort of thing is often suggested as a "DIY Sortimo").

I've been considering it as something nice enough and inexpensive enough for the laundry room (which is where my workbench is located), but until then, I made a far more modest thing by just cutting out the interior of a Husky Rolling Connect 5-compartment tool caddy so that it would hold two HF 20-bin organizers on my Husky Rolling Connect stack (I'm cheap, and haven't been able to justify buying into Systainers).

How do you like the Lee Valley Drilling Kit? (I keep telling myself that if I win the lottery I'm going to order all their tools in Systainer kits).

I'd have to give it mixed reviews. Everything I've used has been great - the drill buts are really sharp and the tapered bits work well. I like having a few metric bits for those times when I need one. But often I go to it iooking for a bit size that just isn't included. And so far I haven't needed the plug cutters.

The price has been hiked considerably from when I bought it 13 months ago. At the current price I probably would pass.
