Little surprised at the U.S. pricing on the mini. $25.00! Huh???
Germany lists the price at €14.50 without VAT (tax which I don't pay due to military affiliation). The dealers in Germany also give 10% off that price to regular customers on accessories, which brings the price to €13.05. At the current exchange rate of $1.33 per € 1.00, that means the cost here is currently U.S. $ 17.35 each....roughly 25% below the U.S. price. What the heck is up with that?? I bought one last week for that price.....yes a T-Loc!
The German Price that includes VAT is 17.26€ which is 19% above the base price. That comes out to about U.S. $23.00 at conversion. What this means is that U.S. Festool is selling the mini at a price that the Germans sell it when full 19% tax is added.
Most Festool products are relatively on par with the Euro when all is considered, but this is clearly a rip off of North American customers. That is simply wrong! Gouging! Especially when the Dollar has been climbing steadily in value against the Euro over the last two months.
Think I'll be picking up at least another 5 mini's next week at my dealer here in Germany, and shipping back home to Florida via the Military postal system. 5 of them bought here in Germany will save me almost $35 under U.S. prices.
Proof from my purchase of a T-LOC mini earlier this week....
