Hello,
Mirka Hand Sanding Vacuum Blocks connect to a vacuum for dust control.
There are two 2-3/4" x 5" sized models,  the 91402 and the MVHB35 (see photos).
Can anyone explain the functional difference?
The MVHB35 is at least twice as expensive.
Thanks

I honestly don't think there is any functional difference between those two models. the Yellow and black one is the newer and improved model. It is supposedly more ergonomic.

If you are thinking about one of these hand sanding vac blocks in this size you might want to take a look at this kit from 3M.

It comes with everything you need and a sample pack of paper for under $10. I have this kit and think it works well. It has an adjustable suction relief built in to the block and the cone on the vac end of the hose works for adapting to your Festool hose. I got mine at Advance Auto on clearance. It is part of their automotive finishing systems.

The paper is available in 12 meter rolls:

Or you can get an assortment pack.

You can't beat that price!

I have the Mirka version, which cost about $20, without any hose or sandpaper, so this looks like quite a bargain.

There a large one, which should be here in the post any day now.
It is 115x230 mm (4-1/2 x 9")  which fits the same Mirka screens as the uva115 sander takes.
The FT RS2E is 115 x 226 mm, so it is effectively the same size, and the Mirka screens fit on with hook-n-loop.
So if you have either 1/2 sheet sander and half sheet screens, then the large 1/2 sheet hand block makes sense.

Now if you do not have a 1/2 sheet sander then the smaller sanding block could make just as much sense as the larger unit.
