I know this forum normally deals with the bigger ticket Festool items, but I wanted to thank Festool for making extremely high quality small items.

I am in the final stages of building 8 outdoor benches out of Ipe, an extremely hard wood that earns the nickname, ironwood. My "normal" drill bits, countersinks, etc all struggled to make a dent in this rock-like wood. My Festool drill bits, Kapex saw, HL850 planer, and countersinks all cut the wood like butter. My Domino bits seem to have lasted through many cuts and are still making their way through the boards.

These items from Festool are very expensive compared to their Home Depot counterparts, but they are worth it!

Reminds me of one of my bosses when I was "much" younger. He told me that "He wasn't so rich as to buy cheap". I didn't fully appreciate what he was saying till later in life. Now that guides me in many purchasing decisions. The Festool tools I have purchased have been a committment initially, but usually save me time and money. Who cares if you get a deal on a bit if you have to buy eight to do the job of one...
