The MFT is great! If you are going to use them, make sure you get the fence and the rail at a perfect 90 degrees to each other for good square cuts. There are other ways to use the rail without the fence too, plenty of examples here on the FOG and on YouTube too - and if you have questions, I know the great users here will chime in quickly with help-
