Miter Saw Station Ideas

Ok, drifting somewhataway from my origin main question. Nevertheless great info. It looks like I will build the benchwork / Wilmots sys-bench and incorporate the mitersaw into this long workbench. It uses the 32mm system, I can follow strict plans (metric) and I can build it without a fence. Thanks again for the support. This is a great community!
Maybe I can someday present the finished work.

David Picciuto has a pretty simple and easily built miter saw station that is also easy to expand with drawers, etc. There are plans but it's not to hard to figure it out (and modify) just by watching the video.

With a follow-up:

The  one  thing  I  would  say  about the first  video  is  that  the horizontal  rails  on  the floor  are  not needed.
They  just make accessibility  to the storage  space  more  difficult.

I didn't watch the video. From the still pic, it seems that he relied on the floor rails for installing the adjustable feet.

In later videos, he updated the open storage space with drawers and doors.

i use my tools and the Kapex in particular in the shop as well as on project sites. to facilitate the use of the folding extensions with the tape measure and flag stops i accordingly designed and built the miter station. the outriggers are attached to the Kapex with the ends, the leg hinge brackets, resting on the bench. there are 2 threaded holes in the leg hinge brackets, i believe it's M5. i installed socket screws to adjust the height in order to align the extensions vertically with the saw deck.
it takes me 7 min to transfer the saw to the mobile base and packing the extensions. same for reverse.

Man I'm jealous of you guys with the big workshops, I've got about a square meter of usable space in mine! :-)

The problem I see with an in bench track is it will collect debris in it and need constant cleaning. My fence is an an Incra and it measures accurately both sides of the blade and I simply lift it off the bench if I want the space and it retains its accuracy when it gets put back on the bench. You don't need a long fence but I appreciate that I can cut without against an accurate stop and to place the stop I don't have to measure anything and If I could do that without a fence I would. Place the saw on a rail or track system makes using sub fences on the saw easy to align to the fixed fence as needed.

So I am not sure if this will help but…
I retired one year ago at the urging of my kids (3 and 6) and was fully vested plus four years and my Wife works. I had prior to being promoted had plenty of shop time but after five years of dealing with other peoples issues I found I had no time to work on anything in the shop if I wanted to spend time with my kids. My kids are young and my youngest just started preschool, my son kindergarten. This has allowed me to start back in the shop a little bit. Mostly early morning and a couple hours over the weekend.I had previously built a long base cabinet for a miter saw station. I had lots of plans for it and never finished it. I have to get up at 4 so I have an hour and half to work before my kids get up and I had a lot of scrap ply so I built three bench top drawer units with scrap and cleated them to the top so I wouldn’t have to remove the top of the miter saw station and then a bunch of simple carcasses. I’ll try to include a pic but the FOG does t seem to like uploading my pics. Regardless, I didn’t use the LR32 as I really did not need adjustable shelves but putting together some scrap storage to put atop my unfinished base wasn’t to hard, it ain’t pretty but it’s allowing me to organize my shop. And set a coffee, a water bottle and an occasional dark ale on it. The Kapex is on a sliding base with a Mini and Dust Deputy Cyclone directly under in the opening between the two carcasses. Happy Holidays!

Maybe this will work
