Bookmatched curly soft maple 1 .75" thick.

I designed this table to be easily built in just 4-5 hours starting from rough lumber to ready for finish. That way the price can be pretty low for such a cool looking table. Well thats if you like contemporary furniture.

Miters cut w/ TS75 and reinforced with 10x50mm dominoes.

Satin finish is Valspar Zenith precat.

Miter legs splay out at 6 degrees.

Just posted it on Etsy.com Im EijiFuller

Thanks

Oh Im also planning to make another in wenge and birdseye maple strips (see pic). Wondering if any of you geniouses have a good way to keep all the strips lined up and glued up flat. I want to glue up the top in one shot with expoxy or plastic resin. Im leaning toward the exopy because I have a longer open time to work with. Its a crazy amount of expensive wood to screw up if I run out of time.  [scared]

Love the maple table - not so sure on the stripey one though.

I think it'd look a lot better if you didn't offset the different timbers at the joints, but let them run through in line.

Just my opinion, of course!

Super work as always, it looks great.

What size board are you working with.  The book match looks fantastic!

Nice work!  Miters reinforced with dominoes I take it?  Which Marcou smoother did you use?  [poke]

Jay,
The table is 26" wide and came from 2 - 2" x 14" boards.

Johnny,
Just wait and see. Its going to look fantastic. And I just love the visual stimulation from the alternating joint. Somewhat Escher esh.

Eiji,

Since you're alternating woodspecies anyway, have you considered a fingerjoint?

Regards,

Job
