Ok. So I've finally landed a Kapex. I was VERY close to getting the UG setup. First, I was bummed about the crown stops not working. Found the sawhelpers. Then, I just knew that I'd be making an Incra Flip Fence system for shop use.. and realized how much that was going to cost. I finally decided I would build a system that is both: shop accuracy up to 104" on left hand cuts and 64" on the right (with the 36" telescoping fence).
I would also like to make it ~12" deep for stable/safe repeatable cross cutting of upper cabinet parts. (I run a custom cabinet shop, just my father and I). The Kapex purchase should fully replace our old miter saw AND radial arm saw.
The materials will be 5/8" (15mm) Baltic Birch.
The FIRST question is this: Can I use a couple pairs of Festool Guide Rail Connectors to insert into several pieces of Incra T-track and the back side of the Incra Flip Fence to make the LEFT HAND Wing 104" (flip fence is sold in 52" sections max). Will it fit? What are the disadvantage of this idea?
I should mention that these wings will use sawhelper brackets to attach to the kapex on the UG cart. I will use Fastcap tripods to hold up the wings.
