Correct me if I am wrong..But wasn't there a link to a how or some pictures on how to mod a Bosch SCMS dust collection with the Kapex hood to improve what it picks up? I know I saw a link to it somewhere, some innovative fella did it and it looked like it worked well.

I Googled the heck out of it and couldn't come up with anything.

im not sure what you mean by kapex hood. i think you mean the rubber part under the dc port.
i saw a piece of fabric attached to a saw that improved dc .

I swear they retrofitted the Kapex rubber part to the DC port of the Bosch saw. Maybe I dreamt it.  [wink]

But seriously, I think was on this site that it was discussed, just can't locate it!!

No problem.  Let me know if it works.  Been thinking about doing the same thing for a while.

Will post pics once I get it done..I have the hood ironically since I was going to do it to my existing saw, waiting for the Bosch saw in the mail since I haven't been able to touch one. Retailers don't stock them apparently.. I am doing an A/B test against my existing slide saw (Jet). I found out after the fact the Jet saw was the same as the Craftsman and I just can't have that.  [wink]

I actually don't hate the Jet, but it has some features that won't last over time, e.g sticker for miter gauge instead of laser etched or molded into the metal. Also the fence is a joke and seems to come out of square from time to time. Originally I wanted the 4310 Bosch, but cheaped out with the Jet, saved maybe $75. Hindsight...Truthfully I WANT a Kapex but for the kind of work I do, I wouldn't feel good about dropping $1350 on a miter saw. I Love that saw, but I think the Bosch will meet all my needs and then some. Anyway, it leaves me some $$ left over for the Fastcap Best fence system!

Once I make a decision on the saws, I will post pics of my mod to it.
