Fire resistant firewood?  [eek]
I did this mock-up as a display for the client this afternoon. It's a miniature version what will eventually be a feature wall, over a bar, like a soffit. The face frame is supposed to be stained, but that has not been approved yet.
After all of the split pieces are cut to varying lengths, they get sprayed with a fire resistant material. This is apparently required to pass some kind of regulations for the location it goes into.
The pieces are nailed/screwed to a loose backer board, so the cabinets can be installed empty and then the panel slid in after they are secured to the wall.

Nice! A huge multi story complex for spiders!

No way we'd have that here in OZ, shudder the thought!

Cute...so my guess is that instead of putting a glass pane in front, on other similar sized "boxes" with the standard admonishment of "Break glass in case of fire", you'll not need to add a small hammer on a chain and the admonishment of "Break glass in case of lack of heat". [big grin]

Everything there is trying to kill you. Most of the deadliest spiders and snakes come from there.  [eek]

This is just a tiny sample. The real thing is 16-18 feet long in one elevation and I think there are 3?

There's 3 of em! Tell that to any woman here and they'll run screaming, they'll be seeing this in their mind!

And yes, that's real cobwebs in Gippsland here!
