Mounting Mafell Guide Rail to MFT-3

I've read where some have attached a Mafell Guide Rail to an MFT-3 using shop-made modifications to the Festool guide rail mounts, but I was curious to know if anyone has seen a marketed product to accomplish this mounting? I realize that I can use the Mafell MT-55 on a Festool guide rail, but I was thinking that mounting the Mafell Guide Rail directly on the MFT would save me the step of swapping out the Guide Rail filler on the MT-55. If anyone has any other ideas, please share and include pics if possible. Thank you!

Hi Rhino!!

There are a few ways to accomplish this, most easily located in threads on the Mafell Users Forum.

I'm not aware of a marketed product to accomplish this. Best of luck!

Qwas rail dogs - Shoot him an email requesting the bolts to be sized to fit the Mafell rail slots... Not exactly the same as the Festool mounts and it will decrease your cutting capability but it works well for me. I also modified and "Frankensteined" some Festool MFT mounts but it was with a lot more effort and not really sure it was any better than using the Qwas rail dogs.

Also, I took my plastic guide rail filler out and left it out as I switch between Mafell and Festool rails all the time. You only have to adjust the tensioners when going back and forth between the different manufacturer's rails.

Mine was done using the MUF instructions.
I recall getting some T-headed screws that go into the rail, and brass knurled nuts.
